The Daily Detective Puzzle

A detective puzzle asks you to reason from evidence, not answer trivia. Daily Holmes publishes one every midnight: a photograph, one question, and a grade on the case you build from what the scene shows.

The fifteen formats are all detective work in different clothes. Some days you write your deduction like a case file. Some days four suspects claim the same room and only the evidence disagrees. Some days one of the statements in front of you is a lie, and the photograph knows which. The constant is the method: observe first, infer second, and cite your evidence, because the examiner grades reasoning before conclusions.

If you finished today's word game and wanted something with a body of evidence instead of a body of letters, this is the slot it fills. Three minutes on a fast day. The next case is already scheduled.

You can try every format in five-second micro demos on the modes page, and the method behind this one is covered in how to think like Sherlock Holmes.

A case crosses your desk every morning.

Frequently asked questions

What is a daily detective puzzle?

A short case published once a day and solved by reading evidence. In Daily Holmes the evidence is a photograph of a space; you make your case in the day's format and your reasoning is graded, evidence first.

Is there a free detective game I can play every day?

Yes. Daily Holmes publishes a free case every midnight, playable in the browser. No signup to play today's case.

How long does the daily case take?

About three minutes on a fast day. Harder formats or a stubborn scene can stretch it, but the game is built as a morning ritual, not a session.
