Spot the Difference, With Stakes

A spot-the-difference where the differences mean something. Two versions of the same scene, a handful of quiet changes, and a reason each one matters: the changes are evidence, not decoration.

Classic spot-the-difference hides arbitrary edits: a missing button, a recolored flower. The Daily Holmes twin-image format hides deliberate ones. Something was moved, removed, or staged between the two frames, and finding the differences is only half the case; the other half is reading what they imply about the person who made them.

The format appears in the daily rotation alongside fourteen others, so the eye never settles into one kind of looking. When the twin images come up, expect the differences to be small, fair, and placed where a careful reader lives.

You can try every format in five-second micro demos on the modes page, and the method behind this one is covered in visual deduction 101.

A case crosses your desk every morning.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a daily spot the difference game?

The twin-image format is one of fifteen Daily Holmes formats, so it appears in the rotation rather than every single day. The daily case itself is new every midnight and free to play.

Are the differences random?

No. Each change is authored as evidence: something moved, removed, or staged between the two frames. Finding a difference earns part of the score; reading what it implies earns the rest.

Is it free?

Yes. The daily case is free in any browser. No signup to play today's case.
